Unknot is a desktop app with three ways to work. In each one, you say what you need and how much it matters. Unknot picks the models, splits the work between helpers, and asks before anything that changes, sends or deletes.
“When does e-invoicing start in Poland?”
A conversation. Web search, attachments, and quick answers with their sources. When the answer should be a file, Ask hands the job to Task.

“Write the exec memo on moving the Frankfurt data centre.”
Hand off research, documents, spreadsheets and decks. Task runs in a sandbox with the folders you share, and out comes Office, PDF or HTML.

“Fix the rounding in invoice totals.”
Work in a folder you own: code, documents or data, with changes, files, a terminal and pull requests. Every change arrives as a diff for you to review.

You set how much the work matters, from Low to Max. Unknot splits the request into parts and sends each one to the model that fits it: frontier quality where it matters, efficient models where they're enough. You see each helper's status and cost, and never a model name, because you never have to choose one.
Reading stays inside what you shared. Writing, sending and deleting wait for you, with the exact change in front of you. Approve it once, or for the rest of the session.
When a job is too big to just start, Unknot agrees the steps with you before it builds.
Switch it on and an independent reviewer checks each step, with its reason. It declines anything risky and still asks you before installing software.

Every session shows what it cost, how many tokens it used and which helpers worked, in one line under the composer.
Tasks run in a sandbox and see only what you share. Nothing leaves your Mac except the requests Unknot sends to the models.
Run a few side by side. The Dock icon taps you on the shoulder when one needs you.
Plug in your own tools over MCP. Teach Unknot the jobs you repeat with Agent Skills.
Add a message mid-run, or cancel. Nothing is locked in.
